Our Fellowship Hall was filled with warmth, laughter, and many teacups on Saturday, March 15th, as women of all ages gathered for a beautiful Missions Tea Party hosted by Ramoth’s Women’s Ministry. Our members decorated the tables in florals, lace, and love, and the afternoon was a celebration of community, compassion, and Christ-centered purpose.

Ladies came dressed in everything from pearls and fascinators to jeans and cozy sweaters proving that the heart of the tea was truly about connection for everyone.

Our mission focus this year highlighted an incredible ministry: Adult & Teen Challenge Virginia and Beauty for Ashes. Through powerful testimonies and shared stories, attendees learned about the life-transforming work the organization is doing to bring healing and restoration through the hope of Christ. Many were moved by the redemptive stories of lives changed and hearts made whole, and we were honored to support this ministry through our event.

One of the highlights was our Silent Auction, full of thoughtfully donated items, from handcrafted treats and teapots to artwork and home décor. The generosity of our church family and friends was truly on display, and 100% of the proceeds were donated directly to Adult & Teen Challenge Virginia. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who decorated tables, donated items, contributed to setup, or simply brought a friend along. Your presence and participation helped make this event a beautiful success, both in fellowship and in mission.

“His Banner Over Me Is Love” (Song of Songs 2:4)

On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the fellowship hall at Ramoth Baptist Church was filled with warmth, love, and a delicious meal! This year’s Widow and Widowers Luncheon was a special time to honor and uplift members of our congregation who have experienced the loss of a spouse.

December holds a unique place in our hearts as a season of joy and celebration, but it can also be a time of sadness and reflection for many. This luncheon was a beautiful reminder of how the body of Christ can come together to support and strengthen one another. As we continue through the Christmas and New Year seasons, let us remain mindful of those who are navigating grief or other challenges and make every effort to lift them up in prayer and encouragement.

The luncheon provided a space for fun, fellowship, and food, with the shared love of believers at its core. Laughter echoed through the room as old friends reconnected, stories were shared, and bonds were deepened. It was a time to cherish one another and reflect on the hope we have in Christ, even in difficult seasons.

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated volunteers who made this event so special. To those who lovingly prepared and served the meal, and to the team who transformed the fellowship hall with festive decorations, thank you for your hard work and servant’s hearts. Your contributions made the day truly memorable for everyone in attendance.

As we reflect on this meaningful gathering, let’s carry the spirit of this luncheon forward into the weeks and months ahead. Together, as a church family, we can continue to share the love of Christ and be a source of comfort and joy for those around us.

Thank you to everyone who participated, prayed, and supported this event. May we all be reminded that we are never alone because God’s love unites us through every season of life.

This year’s Fall Festival, held on November 2, 2024, was an unforgettable day filled with fun, fellowship, and faith! From 12 PM to 4 PM, our church  came alive with activities for all ages, delicious food, and moments that brought our community closer together. We had approximately 500 people from our community in attendance!

Contests & Creativity

A highlight of the day was the All Ages Mixed Media Art Show, Pie Contest, and Chili Cook-Off
The art show featured incredible works inspired by these themes:

• Seasons of Change: You are God's Work in Progress
• The Heart of Thankfulness
• Inspired by Scripture: Bible Stories in Art

Artists of all ages showcased pieces created within the last year, and our judges were amazed by the talent and creativity on display. Thank you to all participants for sharing your gifts and to our judges for their time and thoughtfulness.
The competition didn’t stop there! Our Pie Contest and Chili Cook-Off brought out some serious culinary skills. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who entered—you made the judges’ jobs very challenging (and delicious)!

Family Fun & Fellowship

The festival was packed with activities for everyone. Kids had a blast with the bounce house, face painting, games, and hayride, and we loved seeing families come together at the photo booth and corn hole games. A special shoutout to the 60 kids who participated in the Bible Scavenger Hunt!
We also enjoyed the timeless Cake Walk, thanks to the many desserts generously donated by our church family. Whether you left with a cake or just a smile, we hope everyone felt the sweetness of the moment.

Delicious Fall Flavors

No one left hungry with the spread we had! We enjoyed:

• Fresh apple cider donuts
• Crunchy popcorn
• Classic hotdogs
• A variety of hearty chili
• And home made pie!

These treats were the perfect complement to the festival.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible volunteers who gave their time and energy. From those who helped set up the day before, to those who worked tirelessly during the event, your dedication made everything run smoothly. A special thanks to:

Annual Car Show Recap – October 26th, 2024

On Saturday, October 26th, 2024, we hosted our annual Car Show, and what an amazing day it was! With over 20 cars registered and cruise-ins welcome, the event was a success, featuring everything from stunning vintage classics to sleek modern marvels! The event drew car enthusiasts and families alike, all enjoying the perfectly warm fall weather we were blessed with.

This year’s car registration proceeds were donated to Feed America, a mission we proudly support in their fight against hunger. Thanks to your generous participation, we were able to contribute to a cause that helps provide meals to families in need.

The variety of vehicles on display this year was truly impressive. Guests strolled through rows of stunning paint jobs, polished chrome, and timeless craftsmanship. It was a trip through decades of automotive history, with something for everyone to enjoy!

One of the highlights of the day was the apple cider donuts, which added a sweet touch to the show. Whether you were a car enthusiast or just there for the food and fellowship, everyone seemed to leave with a smile (and maybe a little sugar on their face too!).

This year’s competition was fierce, with so many outstanding cars in the running. In the end, trophies were awarded to the top 30 vehicles, recognizing the hard work, care, and passion of their owners. The joy on the winners’ faces was a testament to the vibrant community that came together for this special event. We are so blessed that our church was able to fellowship with many new and familiar faces!

Events like these wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication of our amazing volunteers. From organizing the show to preparing and serving food, your efforts didn’t go unnoticed. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who lent a helping hand. Your generosity truly reflects the heart of our church community.

On October 20th at 12:30 PM, our church community gathered to celebrate and honor our beloved pastors Dr. Richard Harrell (Senior Pastor), Pastor Chuck Hite (Associate Pastor of Worship), Pastor Jonathan James (Associate Pastor of Students) during our annual Pastor Appreciation Luncheon. It was a heartwarming event filled with fellowship, gratitude, and, of course, delicious food!

We enjoyed a delightful pasta feast, generously provided by our church, while members contributed a wonderful array of desserts and sides that complemented the meal perfectly. Thank you to everyone who brought dishes to share; your contributions made the luncheon even more special!

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the many volunteers who dedicated their time and efforts to make this event a success. From setting up the food to cleaning up afterward, your hard work did not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful for your support.
We also want to extend our appreciation to all the church members who provided thoughtful gifts for our pastors. Your generosity and kindness were deeply felt and appreciated.

Our pastors shared a touching message:
"Thank you for all the love and support at the Pastor Appreciation Dinner. We were overwhelmed by your kind words and generous gifts." It is evident that our church family is united in love and appreciation for our leadership, and events like these remind us of this fact!

Thank you once again for making the Pastor Appreciation Luncheon a memorable occasion. Let us continue to uplift and support our pastors and one another in the spirit of love and fellowship!

At Ramoth Baptist Church, we are blessed to be part of an incredible outreach known as Operation Christmas Child. This mission, led by Samaritan’s Purse, sends shoeboxes filled with gifts and essential items to children in need around the world. These simple boxes, packed with love, bring joy and the message of God’s love to children everywhere.

On Sunday, October 13th 2024, following the 11 AM service, we held our Shoebox Packing Party.  Volunteers gathered to pack the boxes with toys, hygiene items, and art supplies generously donated by our members. Each box will make a difference in a child's life this Christmas thanks to the hard work and dedication of our church family.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who stayed to help pack the boxes and to everyone who donated supplies. Your generosity and service reflect the love of Christ and will bless countless children across the globe. 

Let’s continue to keep these children in our prayers, trusting that each shoebox will bring not just gifts, but the hope and joy of the Gospel.

We hosted a Youth Sports Day at Curtis Park on Sunday, September 22nd!

Five other youth groups from local churches of like faith joined us! While the more precise number on our team sign-up sheets got thrown away, from the number of teams and players on each team, we can say we had at least 110 youth there! We also had
40 adult helpers with 13 from Ramoth Baptist Church to make this event possible!

I want to say a big thank you to all the adults who helped from setting up tents and running sign up tables to refereeing games and picking up pizzas. I also want to give a big thanks to the youth leader at Choice Baptist Church, who helped me plan and run the event! I also am grateful to God, who gave us His Son and the community we have Him! Not to mention the rain cleared up for the event (and it rained that morning and the days before and after).

Our event started with prayer and icebreakers to help the youth mingle with peers from the other churches. Then we divided everyone up into teams with 8 or more players from 2 or more churches to compete in tournaments of Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball. Surprisingly, we had a team with all Middle Schoolers and one freshman place 1st for Ultimate Frisbee and 2nd for Volleyball!

Next, we played Wiffle Ball before we chowed down on a lot of pizza! After dinner, we had a gospel message for believers and unbelievers from Philippians 3:7-12, 17-20. We introduced it with an illusion (see if you can figure out its hidden message below!). Lastly, we had an awards ceremony and adorned the winners of the tournament with medals! It was a fun event which reminded us of the larger presence of Christ’s body in our local community!

I enjoyed seeing many of the youth mingle and fellowship with their peers from other churches as well as our church team working alongside other church teams! Sometimes we can fall into the same thinking of Elijah “I am the only one of the LORD’s prophets left” (1 Kings 18:22, NIV). Yet God is bigger than we can grasp and working in more ways and in more people than we notice! As the Apostle Paul tells the Church of Ephesus, “19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.” (Ephesians 2:19-22).

Women’s Ministry F.I.T Workshops: September Recap & October Preview

September was a creative and spiritually enriching month for the Women's Ministry, as we gathered for the F.I.T. Workshops. These sessions provided not only opportunities for artistic expression but also time for fellowship. Here's a look back at the amazing events we had in September and a sneak peek at what's coming up in October!

September Workshops Recap

Canvas and Acrylics with Pam Null
Our first workshop kicked off with a session using canvas and acrylics. Under Pam’s expert guidance, participants explored their creative side, transforming blank canvases into vibrant works of art.

Cardmaking & Paper Stamps with Kelley Skowronek
Kelley led a wonderful cardmaking workshop where participants learned the art of creating heartfelt, handmade cards. Whether it was for a special occasion or just to brighten someone’s day, these personalized creations allowed us to give back to our community in a meaningful way.

Watercolor His Word with Sarah Fraley
In our final September workshop, Sarah led a wonderful session using watercolors to express the beauty of God’s Word. We reflected on scripture and let our brushstrokes flow to create beautiful seasonal works of art!

    If you missed the September session, you have another chance to join Sarah as we use watercolors to reflect on scripture and express our faith through art.

    Pam returns with more sessions to explore the world of acrylic painting. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist, these workshops will give you the space to create and grow.

  • Leader: Kelley Skowronek
  • Materials Fee: $5 for 6 cards (or by donation)
    Kelley will guide us once again in making beautiful handmade cards. This is a wonderful opportunity to prepare heartfelt gifts for friends and family during the upcoming holiday season.

Saturday Special: IMGN Life Service Project – Fiber Fellowship – Beginners Welcome!

For those who love to serve through crafting, we’re also excited to announce a Saturday workshop focusing on a service project through fiber arts.

  • Need to Bring: Yarn, crochet needles, or knitting needles
    Join us as we come together to crochet or knit items for babies in need. This is a great way to use your crafting skills to bless others in our community!

 Whether you’re exploring new skills or refining old ones, these sessions are a great way to connect with others and express your faith through art. Don't miss out—bring a friend and let's grow together in creativity and fellowship!

On Sunday, September 8th, 2024 our church family gathered for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and faith at our Church-Wide Picnic in Curtis Park! It was such a beautiful time of connection with our community as we shared the afternoon under the pavilions by the tennis courts.

After the second service, we grabbed our lawn chairs, packed our lunches, and made our way to the park! Everyone was eager to enjoy the picnic, games, and, of course, the much-anticipated volleyball tournament.

Games Galore!
In addition to the exciting volleyball tournament, we had several other activities that brought everyone together. Cornhole matches offered a bit of friendly competition, while some enjoyed a fun game of badminton. The gaga ball pit was full of energy as kids and adults alike showed off their skills. And we can't forget the intense game of ultimate frisbee that brought our picnic day to a close.

The Gift of Fellowship
The picnic was more than just games and food. It was an opportunity to pause and connect. We enjoyed meaningful conversations, deepened friendships, and even met new faces. There’s something special about sitting outside in God’s creation, sharing a meal, stories, and laughter with one another.

One fun surprise? Jenny, our Children’s Ministry Director, even brought her dogs, which was a big hit with the kids (and the adults, too!). They added to the fun as they happily roamed around meeting everyone.

On Saturday, August 24th, our church hosted a special event—Ladies Crafts & Games Day—and it turned out to be a day full of creativity, joy, and meaningful connections! The goal was to offer a relaxed and fun environment for women in our church and community to fellowship while exploring their artistic side. Looking back at the photos, it is clear that it was a great success for everyone!

The crafts were a hit! The tables were filled with beautiful designs from everyone who gave it a try. We had card making and a paint-by-numbers station, which gave everyone a chance to show their creativity. It was wonderful to see the concentration and smiles as the ladies worked on these beautiful projects.

Not only did these artistic activities provide an outlet for creativity, but they also opened up conversations and gave everyone a chance to get to know each other better! 

Beyond the crafting tables, there was plenty of energy as ladies took part in various games. From indoor games like Uno to more active outdoor games like axe throwing (yes we had axe throwing!), there was something for everyone to enjoy.

It’s clear that the Ladies Craft & Games Day was more than just an afternoon of fun. It was a testament to how our church continues to grow and thrive as a place of fellowship. Events like this play an essential role in building relationships within the church and reaching out to the wider community. The success of this day shows that when we come together in fellowship, creativity, and joy, we build a stronger church family.

On Sunday July 28th, our Youth Group did a Park Outreach at Old Mill Park in Fredericksburg, VA! We had 29 students, and 18 adults participating in this event. This event was a team effort! Some made gallons of lemonade, others designed signs to invite
the public, sliced up watermelons, brought gospel tracts, and transported and set up the game supplies! Before we began, we started with an open group prayer asking God to go before us, prepare hearts, and give us boldness to speak Jesus. It was a blessing to hear several of the youth step up to pray for this!

Then we went out in pairs or groups to speak Jesus with tracts and invitations to our
church. We went on both sides of the Rappahannock River. Some stayed back to play games and serve lemonade to those who visited our pavilion. I would estimate we shared the gospel with around 200 people! At the end, we had dinner and packed up. Three people from the park joined us for dinner and had longer conversations with us. We obeyed Jesus's commands to be His witnesses (Acts 1:8), to love our neighbors (Matt. 22:39), and let our light shine (Matt. 5:16). Thank you so much to everyone who served, contributed, and participated in this Park Outreach. It was a big encouragement and joy for me to see! The pictures I shared unfortunately do not include the whole group. I didn't think to take a group picture till the end of our clean up!

Our Women's Ministry had a very successful Women's Conference with 26 ladies in attendance! They came together to watch the Desperate for Jesus Simulcast, but that is not all!

Our ladies donated self care products to create 98 "love bags" for IMGN LIFE, our local crisis pregnancy center. These love bags were given to the clients of IMGN LIFE to help them feel loved and pampered. It is such a blessing that our Women's Ministry was able to come together, share God's word, fellowship, and create something special for the clients at IMGN LIFE!

From Monday July 15th through Friday July 19th, 29 students and 8 adults went to Centrifuge Camp at Liberty University! We got to worship in their big auditorium and out of over 1,000 students, you could spot our youth enthusiastically, unashamedly praising the Lord with all their energy! It was a joy to see!

In our Bible studies and morning celebrations, we learned about revival, where it begins, how to experience it, and where it leads. At night, we heard convicting messages from our Camp Pastor unpacking and applying the powerful story of Jonah and the gospel! Two of the youth in our group recommitted their lives to Jesus!! Because the Camp Pastor challenged students to respond with all eyes watching, we saw many students stand up to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior! It was an awesome, joyful celebration! 

We also had lots of fun through various games and activities! We got to swim, shoot bows and arrows (even at each other!), play Kickball, dodgeball, and more!

We even danced at a silent disco! I didn’t know what to expect for the last one, but it turned out to be a lot of fun! Everyone was given headphones and could switch between 3 channels to listen to different songs. You would then look for people listening to the same song as you and dance and sing with them! 

Throughout the week, students formed deeper friendships, opened up in our small groups, and participated in tracks and games! The High School girls often used up their hang time because they wanted to keep sharing in their small groups. Two boys in our group hosted meetings in their rooms to pray for one another’s walk with God and devotion to Him after camp! 

It was an amazing trip! I am very grateful for all my adult helpers!
This week could not have happened without your willingness to invest in our students and be available to serve the Lord! 

This summer our children's ministry was able to participate in some very fun camp activities while learning God's word. How awesome is that! The camp lasted from July 8th - 12th and was organized by Children's Bible Ministries of Virginia founded in 1937.

What is Camp Red Arrow?

Camp Red Arrow, in Stevensburg, VA is a life-changing week of Faith, Fun and Friendship for over 500 children each summer.  They offer day and overnight options for children grades 1-12.  Our kids were able to stay over night for the full camp experience!

What did our kids do at camp?

Water games, horse back riding, slip and slide, fishing, canoeing, and so much more! Just take a look at all the pictures our amazing volunteers took at camp.
